What red light therapy is used for
- Skin rejuvenation & collagen support (fine lines, texture, radiance)
- Post‑treatment recovery (after facials, microneedling, laser—where appropriate)
- Redness and sensitivity support (calming and barrier support)
- Anti‑ageing & fine lines — supports collagen and elastin for smoother‑looking skin.
- Dullness & uneven tone — helps improve brightness and a healthier glow.
- Redness & sensitivity — calming support for reactive or rosacea‑prone skin.
- Post‑procedure recovery — often used to support healing after suitable treatments (for example, some facials or microneedling).
How red light therapy works
Red light therapy is a form of LED phototherapy (also called photobiomodulation). In clinic, we use a medical‑grade wavelength (commonly around 633nm) that is absorbed by skin cells. This supports cellular energy and natural repair processes, which is why red light is widely used for skin rejuvenation, visible radiance and recovery support.
Unlike heat‑based treatments, red light therapy is non‑invasive and generally comfortable. There is no peeling, no needles and no downtime — making it ideal as a stand‑alone course or as an add‑on after suitable skin procedures.
Common concerns we treat with red light therapy
What to expect from a session
Your session takes place at our clinic in Marylebone, close to Baker Street in Central London. After a quick skin check, the LED panel is positioned over the treatment area. Most clients describe the session as relaxing and warm.
Typical course: for visible skin rejuvenation and collagen support, many clients choose a course of 6–12 sessions, then maintain as required. For redness or recovery support, the schedule may be shorter. We’ll recommend a plan based on your goals.
Safety and suitability
Red light therapy is generally suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. If you are pregnant, have a light sensitivity condition, are using photosensitising medication, or have any medical concerns, please tell us during booking so we can advise on suitability.
Why choose medical‑grade LED
Not all LED devices are the same. In‑clinic systems deliver consistent, clinically‑used wavelengths and power output. This is why professional treatments can be more effective than many consumer LED masks for targeted goals like collagen stimulation, skin rejuvenation and redness reduction.
